MAKATI CITY, October 8, 2026 – The Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and the FINEX Research & Development Foundation (FINEX Foundation) invited Climargy CEO Alexander Ablaza to join a panel discussion during the FINEX Week 2026 session "Powering the Future" and bring to the panel perspectives on energy efficiency and energy service company (ESCO) financing gaps and opportunities.
Ablaza explained that up to 98% of ESCOs across Asia do not have suitable access to debt and lease financing from banks and other regulated financial institutions for them to pursue their real-world pipeline of ESCO contracts. This prompted the design of Climargy, the world’s pioneer private super-ESCO aggregator of ESCO project assets, which is structured to mobilize project capital for energy savings performance contracts and energy-as-a-service (EaaS) agreements outside the balance sheets of both the ESCOs and the facility owner.
Joining Ablaza in the discussion were co-panelists Danielle R. Del Rosario, President and CEO, PHINMA Solar Energy Corporation, Anne A. Eugenio, Head, Sustainability Officer, Security Bank Corporation, Celine Marie B. Pastor, FVP, Chief Sustainability Officer, LANDBANK of the Philippines, and panel moderator Katrina F. Francisco, Partner, SGV & Co.
The panel likewise tackled bank and non-bank investments in renewable energy and electric mobility.
FINEX Environment Committee Chair Karla Hotchkiss-Rufino of China Banking Corporation and FINEX Research & Development Foundation (FINEX Foundation) Chairman Edmund Allan A. Qua Hiansen of PHINMA Corporation and Liaison Trustee Michael Arcatomy H. Guarin of KPMG Philippines R.G. Manabat & Co. led the Day 4 event of FINEX Week Conference 2026, which captured the financing and investment opportunities in the Philippine clean energy sector.
FINEX and FINEX Foundation were the lead organizers of the 58th Annual FINEX Week Conference, held in various locations from 5-9 October 2026. The FINEX Week 2006 theme was “Beyond the Numbers: Finance Leadership and Governance as Engines of Innovation and Economic Growth.”
